Identity Crisis: Designer Job Titles

UX Designer, UI Designer, Product Designer, Interaction Designer, Visual Designer, Experience Designer, Digital Designer…

The list goes on. And on. And on.

Why can’t we agree on what to call ourselves? Is it because the field is young? Because the work is genuinely different across organizations? Or because we’re all a little insecure about what we actually do?

The truth is probably a combination of all three. But the title matters less than the work. Focus on the problems you solve, the impact you have, and the clarity you bring to complex situations.
